What is DangerPoint?
Mission Statement:
DangerPoint is an award winning centre that educates children and young people in safety awareness in order to reduce the incidents of accidental deaths and injury and promote health, wellbeing and Community Safety
Aims:
- To increase children and young people’s awareness of risks in the environment enabling them to make informed choices about their safety, health and well being.
- To ensure the DangerPoint experience has a long term beneficial impact upon children and young people and families.
- Promotion and dissemination of best safety practice in partnership with NWFRS, NWP, BHP and Welsh Ambulance Trust and other statutory agencies and charities.
- To become a recognised centre of excellence in all aspects of children and young people’s safety, health and well being.
Objectives:
- To provide a bilingual interactive learning environment with up-to-date information and resources about safety.
- Provide trained Rangers who are committed to the ethos of DangerPoint.
- Promote and conduct research to evaluate and further improve the DangerPoint experience.
- Provide opportunities and facilities for formal or informal learning, education or training.
- Liaise and co-operate with other bodies and clients.
- Provide an advisory service where appropriate.
- Develop educational material and information to support the national curriculum.
- To secure the long term financial sustainability of DangerPoint through active fundraising and promotion.
